Stand Up for Humanity supports charities that are committed to giving people in developing countries the opportunity to start their own business.
All the money we make is given as a mico-finance or “good faith” loan to some of the poorest people in the world, so that they can start their own business, with all loans then paid “forward” to then next person who needs help. This work is based on the Nobel Peace Prize winning model of micro-finance founded by Muhammad Yunus, as detailed in his book Banker to the Poor. Targeted primarily at women, and with a loan success rate of over 95 percent, it has proven that giving loans for business building purposes the single most effective way to lift people out of poverty, one person at at time.
So far we have helped countless women in rural India to earn a living in their community by running their own business, and we now also support www.goodsamaritanorphanage.org.uk
